the beginning of an adventure

welcome to show. trust you travelled safely and are just as excited as i am for this endeavour. im still new to this blogging thing, so bare with me whilst i try to make it all pretty and fun. i suck at anything technological, so this is going to take a minute...and an interesting one at that.

so why are we here? well, for the art of music. bands, performances, music videos, lyrics, melodies, booze, all the things that make the music industry in SA what it is. and what an industry it is, growing at an incredible rate with more diverse bands appearing on our tv screens and in the magazines everyday. i think this is all pretty exciting. so this is just a spot to discuss everything. whats cool and whats not, who's hot and who's not (the hot list grows everyday *sigh*), and just general opinions and thoughts on the local and international music front and the culture surrounding such.

im excited about this, and i sincerely hope you are too. i dont have much to say at the moment because im not feeling too inspired. although, i did just catch that farryl purkiss song, 'a million little pieces', and im in love. but thats a discussion for another day.

this weekend there appears to be a lot going down, thanks to stellenbosch's jool vibe. theres campus invasion on friday night, which i think im going to skip, but am definitely making tracks in that direction on saturday, cos that is some other kind of fucked up line-up: ashtray electric; new holland, who i am digging at the moment. not so much the lead singers hair do, but i can look past that, or not at it at all; foto na dans, im not even going to get into that because this is a public forum after all; dirty skirts, who im not too into at the moment as i dont feel like they have their finger on the pulse of whats happening currently, but whatever; 3rd world spectator, whom i've only seen once, but they have an uncanny resemblence to muse, so have to love them; and some other bands that i cant remember right now. but it should make for an awesome day.
